Criticisms intensify between Thener and Lewis Hamilton following their encounter at Zandvoort-Patzer
In the world of Formula 1, Lewis Hamilton is gearing up for the Ferrari Home Race at Monza, but not under ideal circumstances. The seven-time World Champion will start five positions back due to a yellow flag infraction during practice sessions at Zandvoort.
F1 expert Christian Danner considers Hamilton's Zandvoort weekend mentally challenging. According to Danner, Hamilton took the yellow flag situation too lightly and did not read the race director's instructions well enough, leading to a self-inflicted accident in turn three during the race. The infraction occurred in the chaotic final corner of Zandvoort's practice sessions.
Danner finds some of Hamilton's self-critical statements peculiar and has criticised the British driver for wallowing in self-pity and presenting his struggles in a negative light. The F1 expert advises Hamilton to focus on driving and racing rather than his struggles.
In a recent interview with the AvD Motorsport Magazine, Danner also criticised Kimi Antonelli, although further details about his comments are not provided.
Before the Dutch GP, Hamilton had expressed his dissatisfaction with Formula 1, stating that racing with Ferrari has been little fun so far. Danner, however, does not want Hamilton to leave Formula 1 and believes he can refocus on his true calling.
Despite the criticism, Hamilton remains a formidable force in the sport. The Ferrari Home Race at Monza promises to be an exciting event, with Hamilton aiming to bounce back from his mistakes in Zandvoort and secure a strong finish.
