Criminals Make Off with Fuel: Authorities Seek Out Potential Witnesses!
In the quiet town of Erlensee/Langendiebach, an unfortunate incident occurred on Wednesday evening around 11 pm. A driver, seemingly in a hurry and not paying enough attention, caused approximately 1,000 euros worth of damage to an Audi parked on a parking lot in Röntgenstraße, located in front of a fast food restaurant. The driver, who fled the scene without caring for the damage, has left the police in Langenselbold baffled as they take up the investigation. Witnesses are urged to call 06183 91155-0 with any information that could help identify the culprit.
Meanwhile, burglars have been active in the area, with a series of break-ins reported in recent days. Between Saturday, 13:00, and Wednesday, 20:30, perpetrators gained access to a basement apartment in Pfortenstraße (10s house numbers) in Niederdorfelden through a ground floor window. The total damage caused by the burglars is approximately 200 euros, and it is currently not known whether they made off with any loot. The burglary squad in Hanau is taking witness statements at 06181 100-123.
Investigators in Rodenbach are also seeking witnesses who can provide useful information following several burglaries in the area. The perpetrators' modus operandi remains the same, with no clear pattern emerging yet.
The crime spree doesn't end there. Unknown individuals also broke into a single-family home in Finkenweg (low house numbers) and stole several thousand euros in cash on Thursday between 5 pm and 10:15 pm.
Elsewhere, in Maintal, unidentified individuals siphoned over a hundred liters of diesel from a non-functional 3.5-ton truck parked in Bruno-Dreßler-Straße between Wednesday, 16:45, and Thursday, 14:00. The estimated damage is 25 euros, and the stolen fuel is worth around 200 euros. Witnesses can contact the Hanau Kripo at 06181 100-123.
Interestingly, whether there is a connection between the crimes in Maintal and the construction site in Sonnenring is now part of the investigation. The perpetrators also targeted the construction site, stealing various building materials, electrical tools, and equipment worth several thousand euros from an unfinished new building between Wednesday, 5 pm, and Thursday, 7:30 am.

In an effort to combat fraud, an information and advice event on current fraud schemes, especially to the detriment of seniors, took place in the building of the "Self-Help for Physically Disabled e.V." association in Erlensee on Wednesday afternoon. The event aimed to convey action security, develop a "healthy" distrust, and strengthen the sense of security.
As the investigation continues, the police urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities. Together, we can help keep our communities safe.
