Criminal Investigation Yields Results in Frankfurt/Aschaffenburg Following Robbery Incident - Multiple Suspects in Detention - Authorities Seek Additional Victims

In a series of shocking incidents, the Criminal Police in Aschaffenburg have launched an extensive investigation into a string of robberies that have taken place in the Bavarian Lower Main region. The suspects, believed to be young men from the Aschaffenburg area, are alleged to have used a contact app to lure victims under false pretenses, before committing robberies, some of which involved violence.

The investigation, which involved the Public Prosecutor's Office in Aschaffenburg, began after a robbery on August 20 in the Schweinheim district of Aschaffenburg. Five suspects aged between 19 and 26 were identified in the investigation, and court-issued search warrants were executed on Wednesday, resulting in the arrest of all five.

Two men have been arrested and are currently in pretrial detention in connection with a robbery of a 68-year-old woman in Lower Franconia. Another victim, a 45-year-old man, was robbed and injured while meeting someone from a contact app at a grill place in Ebersbacher Street. The suspects were presented to the competent investigating judge at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office in Aschaffenburg, who issued each of them a warrant for remand in custody, among other things, on suspicion of extortionate kidnapping.

The suspects are suspected of having committed similar crimes, with the exact course of events and the extent of their involvement in the four known robberies still being investigated. The police in Aschaffenburg believe that the suspects were involved in different constellations in the known robberies so far, and that there may be more victims who have not yet come forward out of shame.

Anyone who is a victim of further crimes or has any other useful information is urged to contact the Criminal Police in Aschaffenburg on Tel. 06021/857-1733. The Press Office Frankfurt am Main can be contacted for press enquiries at Adickesallee 70, 60322 Frankfurt am Main, with direct contact Monday to Friday from 07:30 AM to 05:00 PM, phone number 069 / 755-82110 (CvD), fax number 069 / 755-82009, email [email protected], and website http://www.polizei.hessen.de/ppffm.

So far, the suspects have not been conclusively linked to the August 20 incident, and the question of whether the young men are responsible for this incident remains the subject of ongoing investigations. The police are urging anyone with information to come forward to help bring those responsible to justice.
