Criminal authorities apprehended an individual in Hamburg-Jenfeld on charges of attempted homicide.
In Hamburg, Germany, a 43-year-old man is set to appear before a judge today, following his arrest on suspicion of strangling his separated wife to near unconsciousness. The incident, which occurred on Tuesday, 1st September, 2025, at around 2:30 AM, in Rodigallee, Hamburg-Jenfeld, has sent shockwaves through the community.
According to reports, the suspect allegedly attacked his 41-year-old victim during the night. The victim's 17-year-old son intervened, causing the suspect to flee the apartment. When the victim regained consciousness, she was able to call for help. Initial search measures could not locate the suspect, but he was eventually arrested on Tuesday afternoon on an order from the Public Prosecutor's Office in the Wilhelmsburg district.
The victim was transported to a hospital, where she received intensive medical treatment. After several days, she is now out of danger. The Homicide Commission (LKA 41) and the Department for Capital Crimes at the Public Prosecutor's Office have taken over the investigation, with the Criminal Investigation Department (LKA 26) conducting initial measures at the scene. Scene of Crime Officers (LKA 31) were also deployed.
