Crime wave hits Rems-Murr as police seek witnesses to thefts and fire

A series of incidents across the Rems-Murr district has kept emergency services and police busy over the past few days. Thefts, a fire, and traffic violations were reported in Kernen, Kirchberg, Steinbach, and surrounding areas. Authorities are now appealing for witnesses in several ongoing investigations.

A large copper planter, roughly one metre wide and worth €100, was stolen from a front garden on Eugenstraße in Kernen/Rommelshausen. The theft took place between 4 p.m. on Thursday and 9 a.m. on Friday. The Kernen Police Post is investigating and has asked anyone with information to call 49 7151 41798.

Police are actively investigating the thefts, burglary, and fire, urging anyone with relevant information to come forward. The 19-year-old woman involved in the drunk driving incident will appear in court, while the driver responsible for the collision may face penalties. Emergency crews have since cleared the landfill fire, but the cause remains under review.
