Crime scene findings concerning Decker sisters revealed; Travis Decker remains the lone accused murderer
In a heartbreaking turn of events, Travis Decker, a former infantryman in the Army, is the sole suspect in the murders of his three daughters, Paityn, Evelyn, and Olivia. The tragic deaths occurred on June 2, 2025, near the Rock Island Campground along Icicle Creek.
The cause of death for each girl was suffocation, and the manner of death was ruled a homicide. Decker is charged with three counts of murder and kidnapping. Authorities urge anyone who sees Decker to call 911 immediately and not to approach him, as he is considered armed and dangerous.
The Washington State Crime Lab found DNA profiles matching Decker on the plastic bags that covered each of his daughter's heads, as well as cable ties collected at the scene. Decker has training in navigation, survival, and other skills, authorities have said, making his whereabouts unknown for months after the crime.
Decker once spent more than two months living in the backwoods off the grid. In the days before he kidnapped his daughters, he Google searched "how does a person move to Canada," "how to relocate to Canada," and "jobs Canada," raising suspicions of his intentions.
The girls were reported missing on May 30, 2025. Two of the victims each had two separate bags over their heads, and the third victim had three separate bags over her head, with their wrists zip-tied. As of Aug 18., the Chelan County Sheriff's Office says they have no evidence to suggest Decker is either alive or dead.
Federal prosecutors also charged Decker with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. No other DNA profiles, other than that of the girls, were found on any of the evidence. There is no information in the search results indicating who might have hidden or supported Decker since becoming a suspect in the murder of his daughters in August 2021.
The United States Marshals Service is offering a reward of up to $20,000 for information leading to Decker's arrest. Local and federal law enforcement have searched for Decker from the air and on the ground after the bodies of his daughters were discovered. Those with information are encouraged to contact the nearest U.S. Marshals office, the U.S. Marshals Service Communications Center at 1-800-336-0102, or submit tips at www.usmarshals.gov/tips.
The Chelan County Sheriff's Office has reaffirmed Travis Decker as the sole suspect in the crime following DNA testing of evidence. The search for Decker continues, and the community is urged to remain vigilant.
