Create Your Own LEGO Soap: DIY Soap-Building Guide!
Making soap has never been more exciting for kids with the introduction of LEGO soap! This easy and engaging activity encourages children to explore physical changes while having fun at bath time.
To create your own LEGO soap, you'll need a clear glycerin soap base, LEGO Minifigures, a silicone soap mold, and essential oils (optional). The size and shape of the soap mold will determine the number of one-inch squares needed for the activity.
Begin by cutting the glycerin soap base into 1-inch squares using a sharp knife. For two soap bars, you'll need eight one-inch pieces, with an extra two for compensation. The soap mixture will be warm but safe to touch after melting. You can melt the soap base in the microwave in 30-second increments, stirring each time.
Once the soap is melted, you can stir in essential oils if desired. Pour the soap mixture into the molds, not quite filling them. Then, place the mold in the refrigerator to set. Leave the soap bars alone for at least 2 hours.
After the soap has set, the LEGO mini-figures can be placed in the cavities of the mold. The soap can be removed once solidified. The LEGO soap can be washed and used repeatedly until just the mini-figure is left.
This simple melt and pour soap activity using LEGO is a fun way for kids to explore physical changes. It's also a great way to clean and reduce germs, as the soap cleans away dirt and grime, and as it wears away, it reveals LEGO mini-figures.
In addition to this exciting soap-making activity, you can also consider building a LEGO catapult, zip line, marble run, tower game, or trying printable LEGO challenges. For more educational opportunities, a printable LEGO Brick Building Pack is available, which includes an e-book guide, STEM activity challenges, and more.
So why not gather your little builders and give this fun and educational LEGO soap-making activity a try? The bathtub is suitable for toddlers and older kids to play with LEGO, making it a versatile and enjoyable activity for the whole family.
