County Police in Borken Participate in Operation Speed, a joint operation of the European road police network Roadpol.

In the past few days, the traffic department of the Circular Police Authority Borken has been actively enforcing speed limits across the district, resulting in a significant number of speeding violations.

According to the latest data, a total of 3327 vehicles were checked, out of which 609 drivers were found to be speeding. The consequences for these drivers were severe, with 110 administrative offense proceedings initiated, 110 driving bans issued, and 500 warning fines handed out.

The speed checks were conducted at 16 locations throughout the district area, with some of the most egregious offenses occurring in Gronau's North district inner city, where a speed of 52 km/h was recorded on Losser street, exceeding the maximum limit of 30 km/h.

In Ahaus's North district inner city, a speed of 92 km/h was recorded, exceeding the maximum limit of 50 km/h on a parallel street. Elsewhere, a car was caught speeding at 113 km/h on L 582 in Schöppingen, exceeding the maximum speed limit of 70 km/h.

Outside the city of Bocholt in the South district, a speed of 84 km/h was recorded, exceeding the maximum limit of 50 km/h on the Dinxperloer street. Additionally, in Isselburg on L606, one driver was measured at 111 km/h in a 50 km/h zone, resulting in an administrative offense procedure.

The traffic department will continue its measurements next week to combat and prevent these accidents. The Circular Police Authority Borken, located in the district of Borken, urges all drivers to adhere to the speed limits to ensure the safety of all road users.
