On May 21, 2025, a hit-and-run occurred in Langenfeld at around 13:10 on the Solinger Straße/Johannesstraße. A 76-year-old pedestrian from Düsseldorf-Garath was lightly injured in the incident. The motorcyclist, described as over 80 years old, robustly built, wearing a black helmet and black motorcycle jacket, did not stop after the accident and left the scene without checking on the pedestrian or attempting to settle damages.
Another hit-and-run incident took place in Ratingen on May 21, 2025, at approximately 10:45 on Essener Straße, involving a Suzuki GSF600 motorcycle. The motorcycle rider did not stop after the accident and left the scene without checking on the downed rider or attempting to settle damages. The Suzuki sustained approximately €1,400 in damages.
A third hit-and-run occurred in Hilden between 8:45 and 10:00 on the Schulstraße on May 19, 2025. A black Ford Focus sustained damage to its right front and rear bumpers, side mirror, and wheel arch. The driver of the vehicle did not stop after the accident and did not attempt to settle damages. The estimated damage to the Ford Focus is around €3,000.
The Mettmann Police Headquarters urges the public to report hit-and-run incidents immediately to the nearest police station or via emergency number 110. If possible, leave the vehicle unchanged at the scene of the accident, and avoid removing or altering accident debris as they can be significant for police investigations.
