In a show of unity and support, a significant sum of approximately 10,000 euros was collected for the Tolerance Wagon 2020 initiative. The funds were handed over to representatives of various organisations at the town hall, with Mayor Thomas Geisel in attendance.

The Evangelical Church Circle of Düsseldorf, led by Pastor Martin Fricke, was among the account holders for these donations. The Jewish Community of Düsseldorf, under the leadership of Cultural Manager Walter Schuhen and Administrative Director Michael Szentei-Heise, also played a crucial role in this charitable endeavour.

Ataman Yildirim, President of Orient-Occident Express - Engaged Muslims in the Rhineland, expressed his gratitude for the support received from the Integration Council, led by Chair Katharina Kabata. The IBAN for further donations to the Tolerance Wagon is DE05 3005 0110 1004 9351 59, and account number 482000 AO 43001000 has been designated for this purpose.

The collected funds will be used to cover various expenses, including work on the wagon, technology, candy, and security. A total of 25,000 euros is the target amount needed for the Tolerance Wagon. Pavle Madzirov, the chair of the council's public relations commission, expressed hope that more donations would come in, as the cause is of utmost importance.

Michael Szentei-Heise, in a heartfelt statement, expressed gratitude for the support received from the Integration Council, stating that it is a testament to the city's commitment to promoting tolerance and understanding.

The date and location for the next donation to the Toleranzwagen initiative have not been announced as of yet. However, with the community's unwavering support, it is clear that the goal of a tolerant and inclusive Düsseldorf is within reach.
