Could the laser-enhanced Dyson Spot+Scrub AI robot vacuum effectively address Dyson's persistent cleaning challenges?

Dyson, a renowned name in the world of home appliances, has announced the launch of its latest innovation – the Spot+Scrub Ai robot vacuum. The announcement was made at the Dyson Unveiled event during IFA Berlin in September 2025.

The Spot+Scrub Ai is not just another robot vacuum. It is equipped with self-emptying, small obstacle-avoiding, and mopping capabilities, setting it apart from its predecessors. One of the key features of this new model is its AI-powered stain detection, which helps the robot vacuum determine the best cleaning path for optimal results.

To ensure complete removal of stains, especially on hard floors, the Spot+Scrub Ai takes before and after photos. It uses a wet roller mop instead of spinning or flat mopping pads, and it even has a self-rinsing roller mop for added convenience.

The Spot+Scrub Ai made its debut at a price of $1,299, but it dropped to $499.99 the same week as the Spot+Scrub Ai announcement, possibly due to competitive pricing strategies. However, the exact price of the Spot+Scrub Ai has not been revealed yet. It is uncertain if the price will exceed $1,500, but it should ideally be in line with similar flagship robot vacuums like the Roborock Saros 10R or Narwal Freo Z10 Ultra.

Interestingly, Dyson has addressed the critical features missing from its 2024 360 Vis Nav. The Spot+Scrub Ai, unlike its predecessor, does not lack self-emptying, small obstacle-avoiding, and mopping capabilities.

However, one aspect that remains unclear is the tank refilling situation in the dock for the Spot+Scrub Ai.

In a recent development, Dreame also unveiled a flagship robot vacuum and mop combo with a wet roller mop in August. This move suggests a growing competition in the market for advanced robot vacuums with mopping capabilities.

With the Spot+Scrub Ai, Dyson continues to push the boundaries of home appliance technology, offering consumers a more efficient and convenient cleaning solution. The new robot vacuum is expected to be a good option for carpets, making it a versatile choice for various floor types.

Stay tuned for more updates on the Dyson Spot+Scrub Ai as more details become available.
