Corporate networking event condenses job interviews down to fast-paced, 20-minute speed dating sessions for job seekers and companies
In the heart of Regensburg, the sixth JobChance event took place, aiming to counteract the growing shortage of skilled workers in the care, household services, and support sectors. This joint initiative, organised by the Economic Development Office, the Regional Management, the job centers of the Regensburg district and city, and the Regensburg employment agency, was a resounding success.
During the event, approximately 100 applicants had about 157 conversations with employers, with one job offer already made and further conversations in the concrete initiation phase. Remarkably, almost a third of these contacts have already resulted in an invitation to a follow-up job interview.
State Councilor Tanja Schweiger emphasised the importance of securing skilled workers in the social sector, stating that this event is a crucial step towards addressing the shortage. The event's structure was designed to facilitate personal conversations, with participants being guided to the participating companies in 20-minute intervals.
The JobChance event is part of the cooperation project "Increase in the employment potential of the 'silent reserve' and refugees". The regional management project is funded by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy, and the economic development offices of the district and city, the job centers, and the employment agency plan to continue offering the successful job placement event format regularly.
The preparatory job check was carried out in cooperation with the Health Region Regensburg before the event, ensuring a smooth and safe process for all participants. For inquiries about future JobChance events, you can contact the Regensburg District Administration - Economic Development at [email protected] or by phone at 0941/4009-593.
The JobChance event is making a significant difference in addressing the skilled worker shortage in Regensburg, and its continuation is intended to sustainably counteract this challenge.
