Copper mineral exploration in Minecraft becomes rewarding after four long years, marking the onset of a "Copper Era" in the game.

Minecraft enthusiasts, get ready for an exciting new chapter in the world of blocks! Mojang Studios has announced the upcoming Minecraft update, dubbed "The Copper Age." This third update of the year 2025 promises to bring a significant amount of new content to the Minecraft survival game.

The primary focus of this update is the previously underutilized ore, copper. Mojang added copper to the game years ago with little fanfare, but now it's set to take centre stage. With "The Copper Age" update, copper will become more useful and interesting than ever before.

The update includes a series of new snapshots and previews, testing out new features. Players can expect the addition of new decorative items such as copper blocks, torches, lanterns, bars, chains, and even a new set of armour, weapons, and tools.

But that's not all! The update also introduces a friendly mob, the Copper Golem, and three new hostile mobs - the Tin Creeper, Ruffian, and Wyvern. The Copper Golem will seek out and take items from copper chests and deposit them in regular chests, while the hostile mobs will provide a new challenge for players.

Interacting with the newly added shelves will allow players to swap the items in the shelves with their hotbar. Shelves, which can display up to nine items in a line, have been added to the game, providing a new way for players to organise their inventory.

In addition, the Copper Golems will oxidize over time and change in colour, but this process can be halted or reversed. The new copper items will sit between stone and iron in terms of durability and effectiveness.

Each dye colour now has a unique look in the game, adding a new level of customisation for players. Mojang is planning to release the update before the end of the summer, but an exact release date has not been provided yet. The announcement of the update's name implies that it is imminent, so keep your eyes peeled for more updates!

Until now, copper had limited use in the game, but with "The Copper Age" update, Minecraft is set to offer a whole new world of possibilities for players to explore and enjoy. Stay tuned for more details as we get closer to the release date!
