Controversial Hillsin case accusedperson criticizes the position of BHA after experiencing significant deterioration in health they deem life-changing.
British Horseracing Authority Imposes Exclusion Order on Former Premier League Striker and Trainer
In a significant development for the British horseracing community, the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) has imposed an exclusion order on a former Premier League striker, Chris Honour, and jockey Dylan Kitts, for failing to cooperate with an investigation.
The charges against Honour and Kitts were brought by the BHA and relate to an incident in which Honour is accused of deliberately preventing another horse, Hillsin, from winning. The trainer has also been charged with encouraging Kitts to give a stopping ride, not giving the rider sufficient instructions, and misleading stewards. Kitts, on the other hand, has been charged with purposely preventing Hillsin from running on its merits.
The three-person disciplinary panel, chaired by Clement Goldstone KC, will hear the case. The panel will consist of Hannah Bradley and Austin Allison, in addition to Goldstone.
Interestingly, just two days after the imposition of the exclusion order, the BHA lifted the order preventing Dylan Kitts from visiting any racing premises. The reasons for this sudden change have not been disclosed.
It is worth noting that Honour has been charged by another party alongside John Higgins and Dylan Kitts, and the charge hearing against them took place on July 11, 2023.
