Search in Halle (Saale) Uncovers Illegal Substances and Arrests Three Suspects
In a significant development, a search was executed in the city of Halle (Saale) on September 4, 2025, in connection with violations of the Narcotics Control Act and the Cannabis Consumption Act.
The search led to the discovery of an indoor cannabis plantation with 87 cannabis plants, hidden within an industrial facility, apartments, and garden plots. Additionally, approximately 120 grams of cocaine, 9 grams of heroin, 3.5 kilograms of amphetamines, 12 grams of ketamine, and 25 grams of ecstasy were found and seized during the search. Two air pistols, a starter pistol, an axe, three knives, and two hatchets were also seized, along with cash in the low five-figure range.
Three suspects were arrested in connection with the findings. The arrest warrant against the 36-year-old suspect was issued by the competent judge at the local court of Halle and subsequently executed by the police. The 36-year-old was transferred to a detention facility in the city of Halle (Saale). The arrest warrants for the other two suspects, a 43-year-old and a 33-year-old, were applied for at the competent local court of Halle (Saale). However, the arrest warrant against the 43-year-old was not issued by the competent judge and the individual was released from police custody on the spot. The decision on the arrest warrant against the third suspect, the 33-year-old, will be made by the competent judge at the local court of Halle (Saale) today.
A 35-year-old female suspect was affected by another search warrant at an apartment in the city. Approximately 4.8 kilograms of cannabis were seized during this search.
Separately, today, the local court judge in Halle is deciding on the issuance of an arrest warrant for Marla Svenja Liebich, a convicted right-wing extremist who has not reported to prison to serve a one-and-a-half-year sentence, and authorities are actively searching for her based on a preemptive arrest warrant due to doubts she would surrender voluntarily.
