Contemporary UK concerts orchestrated by a television personality at notable castles abruptly cancelled following the dissolution of the event organizers into liquidation.
In disappointing news for music fans across the UK, five Proms In The Park events, scheduled to take place in September 2021, have been cancelled due to the liquidation of the UK Arts Corporation (UKAC).
The events, which were planned by UKAC, were set to kick off in Southend on August 14, and were due to be held at iconic locations such as Bolsover Castle in Derbyshire and Pendennis Castle in Cornwall on September 19 and 20 respectively. However, the sudden collapse of UKAC has resulted in the unfortunate cancellation of these festivals. No individual planner has been named in the available information.
The cancellation was announced on Instagram, with English Heritage, the charity managing Bolsover Castle, confirming the cancellation of the event at the castle. Similarly, the cancellation of the event at Pendennis Castle in Cornwall was also confirmed.
One of the highlights of these events was the performance by the Dance Anthem Orchestra on September 5 and 19, as well as a "powerful vocalist" whose identity was not disclosed. TV judge Robert Rinder was also expected to perform a DJ act at the events.
Fans have expressed their support and well wishes in the comments section, with one fan writing, "Devastating indeed, but us fans are here waiting for when it's rescheduled. Hope all ok, sending love."
In a related development, American indie group Iglu and Hearty have also cancelled their In This City tour. Frontman Jarvis Anderson announced the tour's cancellation due to sensitive personal reasons. The group's hit Then Boom reached number five on the UK charts.
Festivalgoers are advised to contact their ticket provider for refunds. The spokesperson for English Heritage expressed regret for the cancellation and the disappointment it may cause.
We will keep you updated on any developments regarding the rescheduling of these events. In the meantime, stay safe and keep the music playing!
