Pirmasens Police Directorate Cracks Down on Road Safety During "Roadpol-2-Wheelers" Action Days

In the West-/Southwest Palatinate region of Germany, the Pirmasens Police Directorate took the helm during the Europe-wide traffic action day "Roadpol-2-Wheelers" on May 23, 2025. Sabine Theobald, who assumed leadership at the start of the new school year in 2025, led the operation.

The action days, which fell under the Westpfalz Police Presidency's area of responsibility, saw a total of 108 motorcycles inspected more closely by the police near the Erdwall curve. Shockingly, 18 motorcycles had technical or structural changes, and 16 of them exceeded the permitted maximum speed, resulting in 21 speeding offenses being punished.

In addition to motorcycles, 4 e-scooters and 19 bicycles were inspected during the operation. Eight of these road users had defects in their vehicles. Two bikers were initiated for traffic violations due to worn-out tires and the use of a "speed camera warning app". One driver did not have the necessary driver's license for his vehicle, and another road user was found unfit to drive due to the influence of alcohol/drugs.

The Pirmasens Police Directorate set up a stationary control point in Leimen at the intersection of L 496 / B 48. The directorate stressed that daily controls will also continue outside the Europe-wide control actions, ensuring a constant focus on road safety in the region.
