Breaking News: Six-Member Gang Arrested for Theft of High-Value Watches and Jewelry

A suspected six-member gang, accused of targeting wealthy individuals via the dating platform Tinder and stealing high-value watches and jewelry, has been arrested by the Criminal Police in Tübingen.

The Public Prosecutor's Office Tübingen and the Police Headquarters Reutlingen have issued a joint press release, detailing the extensive evidence secured during searches in several apartments in Sindelfingen, Stuttgart, Reutlingen, and Oberreichenbach. Investigators found high-value jewelry, Rolex watches, cash in the six-figure range, and several high-value cars during these searches.

The suspects, aged between 19 and 33, are accused of pretending to be interested in their victims, stealing watches during meetings, and using the stolen bank cards for withdrawals, resulting in damages of at least 200,000 euros.

Three suspects were provisionally arrested in Tübingen on Friday (25.07.2025), with a 33-year-old suspect also arrested in connection with the case. Five men and one woman are currently in custody.

The investigation, being conducted by the Public Prosecutor's Office Tübingen and a specialized investigation group of the Criminal Police Directorate Esslingen, also revealed that the suspects contacted persons who offered high-value watches for sale on eBay classifieds and robbed them during meetings regarding potential sales talks.

In further cases, house keys were taken to later enter the victims' homes and steal credit cards and other valuable items. The acts attributed to the gang have been reported in various districts and cities, including Tübingen, Reutlingen, Esslingen, Heilbronn, Stuttgart, Frankfurt am Main, Worms, Metzingen, Böblingen, Bietigheim-Bissingen, Sindelfingen, and Oberreichenbach.

Victims are asked to contact the Criminal Police in Tübingen on 07071/972-0 to help identify the recovered stolen goods. However, there is no publicly available information about additional suspected victims who might have had similar encounters on Tinder resulting in theft of their watches and who have not yet come forward.

The investigations continue, and it is suspected that further persons may have had high-value watches stolen from them during similar dating encounters, which have not yet been reported to the police. The suspects were presented to the responsible judge at Reutlingen District Court on Saturday (26.07.2025).
