constructioncommenced on creating modules for approximately forty children
In the heart of Marburg's southern district, construction work has begun on an interim building to serve as a temporary accommodation for two daycare groups from the former Kita Goldberg. This decision was made by the city council, aiming to address the growing demand for childcare in the area.
The interim building, a modular structure, will be installed on a spacious plot located on the football pitch in Cappel, along Moischter Straße between Reinhardswaldstraße and Burgwaldstraße. The property is large enough to accommodate both the kindergarten and the ball court, with the latter being available for use with some restrictions during the construction works.
The interim building, with external dimensions of 26 x 15 meters, is expected to be completed by the end of the year, provided that construction proceeds smoothly. However, the completion date is weather-dependent. The plan for the next few weeks includes a pull test, earthworks, and the installation of screw foundations, which are scheduled to be installed by mid-September.
These foundations are removable after the modules are dismantled, and if soil conditions permit, they may be reused when the modules are rebuilt. The interim building's interior fit-out will follow the module erection, ensuring a safe and secure environment for around 40 children.
Dr. Michael Kopatz, a councilor, has commented that it is advantageous that the steel modules of the interim building can be reused. He also highlighted that a six-group daycare center is planned to be built permanently on this municipal area to meet the long-term demand for childcare in Marburg's southern district.
Outdoor facilities, including access, escape routes, recreational and play areas, parking spaces for motor vehicles and bicycles, will be created parallel to the interior work. For more information about the planned new construction, visit [www.ourwebsite/kita-reinhardswaldstrasse].
