Construction on Frankfurt Dam Wrapping Up Ahead of Schedule
The construction site at the intersection of Frankfurter Damm and "Vieh" has been a bustling hub of activity since the beginning of the summer holidays. Initially planned to last around four months, the construction period is now progressing more quickly than anticipated, with the project expected to be completed by September 13.
The construction work includes the renovation of the road surface on "Vieh", the renewal of the traffic light system at the junction, and the building of an additional turning lane. A lane has been built from the direction of the forest for those turning right onto the city motorway.
The construction on the intersection of Frankfurter Damm and Viehbachtalstraße began on July 8. One of the key features of the project is the additional turning lane, intended to improve traffic flow. The traffic light regulating the single-lane passage at the junction will be turned off on September 4, paving the way for uninterrupted traffic flow.
Starting September 5, Frankfurter Damm can be used without restrictions in both directions. The "gained" green time is allocated to the other direction, allowing more vehicles to pass, especially during peak times. However, the green phase of the traffic light for right-turners to the city motorway and straight drivers is shortened without reducing the number of vehicles exiting.
The work on Viehbachstraße is also scheduled for completion by September 13. After the completion of the work on Viehbachstraße, access to the city motorway will be reopened. The coordination of the three projects within the extensive construction project has not been explicitly mentioned or identified in the available search results.
Despite the lack of explicit coordination, the projects appear to be progressing smoothly. The road surface of "Vieh" in the area of the entrance and exit has been renovated, and the traffic light system at the junction has been renewed as part of the construction project.
As the completion date approaches, motorists can look forward to smoother traffic flow and improved road conditions at the intersection of Frankfurter Damm and "Vieh".
