Construction Firm CTP Set to Develop 4,000 Square Meter Expansion for IWIS Factory in Oradea, Western Romania
In a significant development, iwis mobility systems, a leading global player in the automotive industry, is expanding its operations in Romania. This move is a testament to the country's growing competitiveness as an industrial hub.
The expansion, which is taking place at CTPark Oradea City, involves the construction of a 4,000 sqm extension to the existing iwis factory. This expansion is being overseen by iwis themselves, with CTP providing the necessary infrastructure.
Frank Wiemer, CEO of iwis mobility systems, has praised the success of the move to Romania, attributing it to the high level of commitment and good education of the employees.
CTP, the largest owner and developer of industrial and logistics space in Romania, is constructing this extension. With over 3 million sqm of Class A facilities across major cities including Bucharest, Timișoara, Brașov, Sibiu, and Cluj-Napoca, CTP has proven its capability to deliver tailored, future-proof solutions aligned with global business priorities.
The new addition will expand the existing 7,000 sqm production facility within CTPark Oradea City. This expansion is expected to enable IWIS to increase its production capacity to meet growing demand both locally and internationally.
Strategically positioned next to the city's international airport, CTPark Oradea City offers easy access to major highways and public transportation. The park, located 4 km from the Hungarian border and close to Oradea city centre, is a strategic industrial hub in Romania's northwest region.
In addition to CTPark Oradea City, iwis operates two other parks in the area: CTPark Oradea Cargo Terminal and CTPark Oradea North. This expansion further reaffirms Romania's position as a competitive industrial hub, attracting global businesses like iwis.
Andrei Marian, Business Development Director at CTP Romania, expressed his delight at the expansion, stating that it underscores CTP's commitment to supporting businesses in their growth journey.
The construction of the extension commenced recently and is planned for completion in 2026. With this expansion, iwis mobility systems is set to continue its growth trajectory in Romania, contributing to the country's industrial growth and economic development.
