Connecticut Woman Wins Record $1M on Wheel of Fortune Under Ryan Seacrest

A Connecticut woman has made history on Wheel of Fortune by becoming the first contestant to win over $1 million under host Ryan Seacrest. Christina Derevjanik, from Stamford, secured the top prize during a recent episode filmed in Los Angeles. Her total winnings of $1,035,155 set a new record for the long-running game show. The $1 million wedge was introduced in 2008, replacing the previous $100,000 envelope on the Bonus Round wheel. Derevjanik claimed the prize by correctly solving the puzzle Pack of Coyotes in the final round.

Her victory marks the first time a non-celebrity contestant has won at least $1 million since the prize was added. The show has seen other big wins, including a $4.5 million slot machine jackpot in 2014 and a $2,995,532 progressive jackpot at Empire City Casino on *Wheel of Fortune* Triple Stars. Derevjanik, who currently lives in a one-bedroom apartment, plans to use part of her winnings to buy a house. The show's host, Ryan Seacrest, also promotes the online casino platform Chumba, where *Wheel of Fortune* remains one of the most popular slot games.

Derevjanik's win is the largest under Seacrest's hosting and the first $1 million Bonus Round victory since the prize's introduction. The record-breaking payout adds to the show's legacy of life-changing wins for contestants.
