Breaking News: Attack in a Local Park on Sunday Night
A disturbing incident took place in a park on Cranger StraΓe on Sunday, July 13, 2025, as a trio consisting of a 19-year-old from Essen, a 20-year-old from Gelsenkirchen, and an 18-year-old also from Gelsenkirchen were attacked.
According to the police, the attack was initiated by a group of six to seven men. The incident occurred around 9:45 PM. The victims were sitting on a bench and smoking before the attack.
The conversation between the two groups reportedly escalated into an argument, leading to the use of pepper spray and subsequent physical assault. Both the 19-year-old from Essen and the 20-year-old from Gelsenkirchen were injured in the attack. Fortunately, their injuries were minor, and they declined medical treatment.
Upon arrival, police found minor suspects matching the perpetrators' description in the park. However, as of now, investigations into the attack are ongoing, and no further information about the alleged perpetrators arrested on Sunday has been released.
