Conflict in Gaza: Benjamin Netanyahu advises Gaza City dwellers to "depart immediately"

In the heart of Jerusalem, a city already steeped in conflict, a devastating attack took place at the entrance to the Ramot neighbourhood in the occupied and annexed sector of East Jerusalem. Six people were tragically killed, and eight others were injured, five of them seriously, according to Magen David Adom, the Israeli equivalent of the Red Cross.

The attack occurred near a bustling bus station, causing widespread shock and fear among the city's residents. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who visited the scene of the attack to express solidarity with the victims, stated that they are at war against terrorism on several fronts.

In response to the attack, Hamas claimed responsibility, stating it was a retaliation for what they perceived as Israeli crimes and genocide against Palestinians. The Israeli army announced that four soldiers had been killed in the north of Gaza, and in the following two days, they destroyed 50 terrorist towers in the city.

The international community has strongly condemned the violence. French President Emmanuel Macron reacted to the attack on Twitter, stating that the spiral of violence must end, and a political solution is needed for peace and stability in the region. France also issued a formal condemnation of the attack.

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker TΓΌrk, denounced the use of genocidal rhetoric by Israeli leaders during the 60th session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland. He also announced a condemnation of Russian missile attacks and called for holding those responsible accountable.

The Israeli Prime Minister called for residents of Gaza city to evacuate the main urban center, urging citizens to heed the warnings and seek safety. The Israeli army is currently looking for suspects in the area of the attack and has surrounded Palestinian localities in the Ramallah region.

This attack in East Jerusalem is one of the deadliest in the city since the beginning of the war in Gaza, highlighting the urgent need for a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict. The international community continues to call for dialogue and a cessation of violence, with hopes that this tragic incident will serve as a catalyst for a renewed push towards peace.
