Confirmed information: Deepak Khetan named as CFO at Astrotalk in advance of their initial public offering

Astrotalk, the popular online platform connecting millions with astrologers, has made a significant move in its journey towards global expansion. Deepak Khetan, a renowned Chartered Accountant with over two decades of experience across financial services and consumer businesses, has been appointed as the first Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the company.

Founded in 2017, Astrotalk has served more than 70 million customers and records over 700,000 daily active users. The platform last raised $14 million in 2024 at a valuation of about Rs 2,500 crore ($300 million). In FY24, Astrotalk reported a revenue run rate of Rs 1,600 crore (about $192 million) and posted operating revenue of Rs 651 crore.

Puneet Gupta, Founder and CEO of Astrotalk, stated that they needed a strong leader with good pedigree and experience to handle their finances with airtight compliance. Deepak Khetan, who secured an All India Rank 1 (AIR-1) as a Chartered Accountant, fits the bill perfectly.

At Astrotalk, Deepak Khetan will oversee financial planning, compliance, risk management, and investor relations. He will drive strategic investments, support international expansion, and build systems for long-term sustainable growth. Astrotalk operates on a revenue-sharing model with over 20,000 active astrologers. The platform's pricing ranges from Rs 10 to Rs 200 per minute.

Astrotalk aims to generate 40% of its revenue from overseas markets in the coming years. As part of this strategy, the company is scaling and launching in new geographies. With Deepak Khetan at the helm, Astrotalk is preparing to go public within the next two years, marking a significant milestone in its journey.

Deepak Khetan has held senior leadership roles at GLS Group India, GlobalBees, Edelweiss Financial Services, YES Bank, ICICI Bank, and Gulf Islamic Investment. His extensive experience will undoubtedly be instrumental in Astrotalk's future growth and success.
