Kira Secures $6.7 Million Seed Funding to Expand Reach in Latin America

Kira, a global payments infrastructure platform, has announced a successful $6.7 million seed funding round. The funding will accelerate the expansion of Kira's operations across Latin America, with an initial focus on South America.

The funding round was led by Blockchange Ventures, a venture fund focused on blockchain-enabled businesses, and Vamos Ventures, a firm that brings Latin American market expertise to the table. Other participants include Stellar Blockchain, Grit Capital Partners, Credibly Neutral Ventures, Michael Seibel, and Oso Trava, an entrepreneur with a significant reach within the region's tech ecosystem.

Kira was founded by Edrizio De La Cruz, Beto (a payments and blockchain expert), and Camilo (a fintech specialist). The company provides the underlying infrastructure for companies to quickly launch fintech products in emerging markets. With this funding, Kira aims to leverage stablecoins and AI to provide modern financial services to the 1 billion underbanked.

Rob Schmults, General Partner at Blockchange Ventures, commented on Kira's potential to define new categories and dominate markets with blockchain-powered financial services. He added that Kira's AI agent infrastructure is positioned to be the backbone for Latin America's digital financial transformation.

Stellar Development Foundation's participation in the funding round underscores Kira's commitment to leveraging blockchain technology. Stellar's blockchain will be used to facilitate fast, low-cost payments, further enhancing Kira's offerings.

Vamos Ventures' involvement signifies Kira's focus on the Latin American market. The company's network within the region's tech ecosystem, as demonstrated by Oso Trava's participation, will be instrumental in Kira's expansion.

The capital will not only finance Kira's growth and development but also the growth of its technical team and the creation of new fintech products. Kira enables big enterprises and small startups to offer their customers blockchain-powered financial services through an all-in-one API.

With this funding, Kira will accelerate strategic partnerships with regional banks and payment processors to expand its reach. The company's vision is to become a key player in the global digital economy, providing a wide variety of financial products, including payments, remittances, savings, and more.

As Kira emerges from stealth mode, it is poised to redefine the financial landscape in Latin America and beyond. The company's innovative approach to blockchain-powered fintech services promises to bring modern financial services to the underbanked, driving financial inclusion and economic growth.
