Company founder Dietmar Wendt has tragically passed away, leaving Wentronic in mourning
Dietmar Wendt, the founder of Wentronic, a distributor and manufacturer of consumer electronics accessories, passed away at the age of 82 on August 16, 2025.
Wentronic was Dietmar Wendt's life's work, a company he founded in the basement of his house in 1992. Before starting Wentronic, Wendt worked as an employee at Antronik in Hannover and Setron in Braunschweig.
Wendt was a diligent, disciplined, and dedicated worker, and his day never ended without thinking about making the company successful. He was a role model for a prudent entrepreneur, and his work ethic and impact at Wentronic are highlighted in the obituary.
For his family, employees, and friends, Wendt was a person they could always rely on. He was a great colleague and leader, and his passing has left a void that will be difficult to fill.
The news was announced by the family and the Braunschweig company, and a farewell message was published on the Wentronic website and LinkedIn. Wendt's last months were particularly challenging, as he had been in declining health since 2017, with each hospital stay making recovery less likely.
Despite his struggles, Wendt clung to life, fought, and was relieved that he is no longer suffering. His passing is a loss to the electronics industry, and he will be remembered as a prudent entrepreneur and a great leader.
Wentronic Electronic Components Trading GmbH, the company Wendt founded at the age of 49, will continue to operate, and his legacy will live on in the company he built.
