Break-in and Theft of High-Value Event Equipment in Ludwigsburg
In an unexpected turn of events, two men, aged 21, were arrested on Monday, July 14, 2025, in connection with a theft that occurred early in the morning in Ludwigsburg.
The incident took place around 4:30 AM on Schubertstraße, where a truck was broken into and several boxes of event equipment were stolen. Witnesses alerted the authorities to the theft, and the Ludwigsburg Police Headquarters' Criminal Police Department swiftly took up the investigation.
According to initial reports, the suspects allegedly unloaded the stolen goods into a VW Transporter before fleeing the scene. The VW Crafter, in which the stolen goods were later found, was located on the federal highway B464 and later on the federal motorway A81.
The suspects, who are Romanian nationals, were provisionally arrested and brought before a judge at the Böblingen District Court on the same day. The judge issued arrest warrants for the suspects on suspicion of aggravated theft and remanded them into custody.
Investigations suggest that the two suspects may have acted in collaboration with other unknown individuals. The names of these individuals are not publicly disclosed at this time. The unknown individuals were traveling in a VW Passat with a yellow foreign license plate, which was also involved in the incident.
