On Friday, September 26, 2025, the Bad Vilbel police will offer a free bicycle coding event at Riedweg 1, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This event is organised by the Central Hesse Police Headquarters.

During the event, police officers will engrave a unique code into the bicycle frame. This code consists of the district code (FB), a key number for the respective municipality, the street, house number, and the initials of the first and last name. This unique code allows the bicycle to be traced back to its rightful owner, and stolen and/or found bicycles can be quickly returned to the owner.

Prior telephone registration with the Bad Vilbel police officer on duty at 06101/5460-24 is mandatory. Registration can be done on weekdays between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. For inquiries outside of regular business hours, the duty police officer can be reached at +49 641/7006-3381, or via email [email protected].

The Central Hesse Police Headquarters Press and Public Relations can be contacted at Ferniestraße 83539 Gießen, telephone +49 641/7006-2055, or via email [email protected].

It is worth noting that the closest coding event related to free bicycle coding by police in Hesse occurred on September 20, 2025, by the Police Presidium Nordhessen at Kassel Hauptbahnhof from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. However, no specific authority in Hesse is reported to have offered free bicycle coding between September 26, 2025, and September 20, 2025.

Take advantage of this opportunity to secure your bicycle with a unique code and enhance its security. For more information, please contact the Bad Vilbel police or the Central Hesse Police Headquarters Press and Public Relations.
