Collision on Weseler Road leaves two individuals hurt
On Tuesday afternoon, an accident occurred on Weseler Straße/B58 in Recklinghausen involving an 83-year-old driver from Dorsten. According to reports from Police Headquarters Recklinghausen, transmitted via news aktuell, the accident took place around 5:40 PM.
The driver veered off the road to the right just after Granatstraße, hitting a guardrail and a road sign before losing control of the vehicle. As a result, the vehicle ended up in a ditch and came to a rest on its side.
Both the driver and the passenger, who was an 80-year-old, were taken to the hospital following the accident. Fortunately, their injuries were reported as minor. A truck driver who was at the scene provided first aid before emergency services arrived.
The police were on site shortly after the accident, though the exact arrival time is not explicitly stated in the reports. The vehicle was towed away from the accident site, and the estimated material damage from the accident is around 20,000 euros.
