On June 6th, an incident involving an E-Scooter rider and a pedestrian occurred on Schönscheidtstraße in Essen. According to the police, the E-Scooter rider was using the sidewalk when the incident took place.

The E-Scooter rider, a 23-year-old man, was overtaking an elderly couple when he made contact with a man, approximately 60 to 80 years old, who was walking on the same sidewalk. The rider initially fled the scene but later reported the incident to the police around two hours later.

Authorities are urging the potentially injured pedestrian to come forward, as well as any potential witnesses. The pedestrian is described as a man with short, white hair, standing around 1.70 meters tall.

The name of the allegedly injured elderly man is not publicly available at this time. The incident occurred around 2:00 PM on Schönscheidtstraße. The police are investigating the incident further and are encouraging anyone with information to come forward to help ensure a thorough investigation.
