Collision Incident: Pair of Mishaps Happens at Circular Intersection
In the heart of Hamm, Germany, two traffic accidents occurred at the busy roundabout of Hafenstraße/Dortmunder Straße on Friday, August 29. The Hamm Police Headquarters, Polizeipräsidium Hamm, has taken up the investigation.
The first accident, which occurred at approximately 1:45 PM, involved a collision between a Mitsubishi driver, aged 61, and a 20-year-old e-scooter rider. The e-scooter rider sustained slight injuries, while the nature of the Mitsubishi driver's injuries remains unreported.
In the second accident, an 80-year-old Daimler driver from Lünen was involved. A 42-year-old cyclist from Hamm was seriously injured. The cyclist was traveling west on the southern cycle path and intended to exit the roundabout heading north. The Daimler driver was traveling west on Hafenstraße, and the collision caused the cyclist to fall.
Both accidents resulted in immediate calls for two ambulances, which transported the injured parties to a local hospital for treatment.
The Hamm Police Headquarters is currently investigating both incidents to determine the exact causes and any potential contributing factors. The community is reminded to exercise caution and adhere to traffic rules at the roundabout and other busy intersections.
