Collision in the Eifel Region: Multiple Individuals Sustained Injuries
On Monday, August 25, a significant traffic accident occurred at the Roetgen town exit on the B258. The incident involved two vehicles, one of which was no longer roadworthy after the collision.
According to the Aachen Police, the accident took place when a 25-year-old man from Düren's vehicle collided with another car, which was slowing down to make a turn. As a result of the impact, the man sustained severe injuries and was immediately taken to the hospital.
Three individuals were involved in the accident. Apart from the Düren man, a 65-year-old woman from Monschau and a 16-year-old girl from Simmerath were also lightly injured. Fortunately, the vehicles following the accident were able to brake in time and did not collide.
The accident caused extensive damage to both vehicles, and the B258 was closed for two hours due to the accident investigation. The suspected cause's vehicle was no longer roadworthy after the accident.
