Collided cyclist meets gruesome fate: driver involved in pack travels, crashes, resulting in cyclist's loss of digit and fatality

In a series of shocking incidents, a 27-year-old driver was arrested on Sunday in connection with two fatal traffic accidents in the border region of Berlin and Brandenburg. The accidents, which occurred in Lichterfelde and Teltow, resulted in the death of a cyclist and injuries to several pedestrians and children.

The first incident took place on the Mauerweg in Teltow. A cyclist lost their life after being hit by the driver. The second incident happened in Lichterfelde, where the driver veered off the road and collided with a pedestrian protection barrier, injuring two pedestrians. One of the pedestrians, a woman, sustained serious injuries, while three children were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The driver, who allegedly attempted to flee the scene, was apprehended near the scene of the accident in Lichterfelde. The passenger in the car was also injured and was taken to a hospital.

It is still unclear whether the driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accidents and have collected evidence, including a blood sample from the driver. The laboratory results will not be available until next week.

A search of the driver's car revealed approximately 90 grams of marijuana with packaging.

Interestingly, there was a similar accident last week in Berlin-Wedding, involving a 20-year-old driver who hit a caregiver and a group of children.

After the accident in Lichterfelde, the driver fled the scene and drove towards Potsdam-Mittelmark. A pedestrian suffered minor injuries by jumping out of the way. In a disturbing turn of events, it was reported that the driver bit off his passenger's finger tip around midday.

The police believe these incidents were accidents, not a rampage. The suspect was arrested and is currently in custody, but the name or further details of the individual are not available at this time.

Our thoughts are with the families and friends of those affected by these tragic incidents. The police continue to investigate the accidents and ask anyone with information to come forward.
