Collapsed Bus Pierces Soundproof Barrier, Leaves Multiple Individuals Hurt
In a shocking turn of events, a bus carrying around 30 people crashed through a noise barrier at an exit on the A93 near Weiden in the Upper Palatinate. The bus, which was part of a rail replacement service on the A93 and was on its way from Regensburg, lost control in a curve and skidded, breaking through a guardrail and the noise barrier.
The driver, a 67-year-old individual, was unable to regain control and the bus came to a stop in the dense bushes at a steep slope behind the highway. The fire department swiftly secured the bus from sliding further, and a large number of firefighters and rescue services were on site, along with a helicopter for air rescue.
Three people were seriously injured in the accident, and other passengers suffered mostly minor injuries or were in shock. The trapped driver had to be freed by the fire department, and the driver, along with two other seriously injured passengers, were taken to nearby hospitals.
The A93 in the direction of the north is currently closed for the recovery of the bus. Police expect the road to remain closed until late afternoon. There is no direct connection between the bus crash incident and Hamm, a city experiencing a high rate of unemployment not seen for a long time.
Meanwhile, in Hamm, a separate issue has arisen. New postal voting documents have been issued for the election of the Integration Council in the city. Despite the unfortunate events, life continues in Hamm, with its residents and officials working together to navigate through these challenging times.
