Collaboration for Climate and Sustainability in the Rhine Region: Neuss Edition

The Allianz für Klimaschutz und Nachhaltigkeit (Alliance for Climate and Sustainability) in Rhein-Kreis Neuss is gearing up for a series of events in 2023, aimed at offering further support, information, and guidance to citizens on their journey towards a more sustainable society.

The alliance, a partnership for climate protection, climate adaptation, and sustainable development, was founded in June 2021 and consists of the Rhein-Kreis Neuss and seven member municipalities. The first joint event, held under the motto "Mer denke öm!" in Korschenbroich, was a successful prelude to the upcoming events.

One such event is the Future Day, which took place in a schoolyard and town hall, and attracted approximately 100 visitors. The day was filled with lectures, workshops, and offers related to nutrition, energy, construction, climate protection, and sustainability.

Thiago de Carvalho Zakrzewski, the representative for climate protection and sustainability in the Rhein-Kreis Neuss, played a key role in organising the Future Day.

In addition to the Future Day, the alliance plans to host information events with the consumer center on photovoltaics and heat pumps. However, the exact dates for these events are not yet publicly available.

The alliance's objective is not only to offer support and guidance but also to work more closely together, intensify professional exchange, and network. It aims to strengthen local responsibility for climate protection and works in the spirit of the Agenda 2030 with its 17 development goals.
