"Cleaning up Detmold"
In the city of Detmold, a new initiative is underway to improve the cleanliness and livability of public spaces. The Freiraumplanung team of the city portal is responsible for the installation of new dog waste signs, designed to address the issue of dog messes in parks, squares, and children's playgrounds.
These signs, developed in collaboration with cartoonist André Sedlaczek, are not prohibition or command signs but instead aim to draw attention to the problem as a friendly reminder for better coexistence. The signs are more effective than standard signs with a crossed-out dog, as they are designed to catch the eye and promote a more considerate coexistence of citizens with and without dogs.
The first signs have been hung in the Friedrichstal park area and some can be seen in the city center. More locations in particularly affected areas, neighborhood parks, and green connections near playgrounds will follow. The cartoonist who developed the new signage for dog waste management in Detmold together with the city portal is named Rainer Bonitz.
Inga Müller and Stephan Szymanowski from the Freiraumplanung team of the city portal are responsible for the implementation of these signs. If you have any inquiries regarding the dog waste signs in Detmold, Daniela Lang is the contact. You can reach her by phone at 05231 977 201 or via email at [email protected].
The dog waste signs in Detmold are part of an ongoing initiative to improve the cleanliness and livability of the city. By encouraging dog owners to pick up and dispose of their pets' waste, the city hopes to make Detmold cleaner and reduce the unpleasantness caused by dog messes.
This initiative is just one of many steps the city of Detmold is taking to create a cleaner, more pleasant environment for all its citizens.
