"City's Education Discourse Drives Political Momentum" generates fresh momentum
In the heart of Our City, a significant gathering took place at the Magistrate, located on Market Square 14, 34225 Our City. Over 90 representatives from politics, administration, and educational institutions came together for the network meeting of the Education Forum.
The focus of this meeting was the current challenges faced by children, youth, and families in Our City. First Mayor Daniel Jung emphasized the importance of unity in providing the best opportunities for these groups, regardless of origin, living situation, or support needs.
The education landscape in Our City is unique and a potential selling proposition, according to Vice-Landrat Silke Engler. Institutions like the Waldschule Düsseldorf, the TSA Bildung und Soziales gGmbH, and the municipal Sustainability Advisory Board are actively involved in further developing this landscape by promoting sustainable education aligned with Agenda 2030. The TSA Bildung und Soziales gGmbH is particularly engaged in advancing quality childcare and education in the region by taking over and developing local kindergartens and after-school centers.
Changes in the leisure behavior of young people and interaction in kindergarten, school, and extracurricular settings were also discussed. Intensive discussions took place at the topic islands, including the increase in psychological illnesses among children and youth, the rising need for support in schools and extracurricular settings, and the urgent need to strengthen educational and parenting partnerships between families and professionals.
Several groups initiated measures such as better networking of support offers, targeted qualification measures for pedagogical staff, and low-threshold support offers for parents during the forum. Bettina Pauli from the Education Forum emphasized that a strong togetherness is essential for a strong education landscape. Politicians showed openness and support, taking the need for action seriously and wanting to work with professionals on viable concepts.
The our city Blog, a service offering news from Our City, the district of Kassel, and the North Hesse region, was also mentioned. The blog allows sharing of posts on various social media platforms and email. Subscription to the latest posts by email is also available.
Axel Garbelmann, known as Wortsurfer, concluded the event with a rhyming, musical reflection of the discussions, adding a humorous and profound touch. Suggestions and criticism should be directed to the corresponding authors of the news.
The Education of children and youth requires a network, in addition to professionalism, creativity, humanity, and shared visions, as emphasized in further closing statements. Our City currently has the opportunity to contribute to the reduction of educational disadvantages through a high-quality full-day offer in elementary schools. The Integreat app, which bundles information on the topic of migration, was also mentioned.
The Education Forum in Our City was a testament to the city's commitment to providing the best opportunities for its children and youth. The event underscored the need for unity, collaboration, and innovative solutions to address the challenges faced by the education sector.
