City theatre resumes post summer hiatus

The Stadttheater Minden is all set to reopen its doors, kicking off the 2025/2026 season with a plethora of exciting events. The theatre's operations will commence with a preview concert on September 3.

Starting from September 5, special theatre experiences will be held outdoors on the theatre square, offering a unique blend of culture and fresh air. Admission for these events is free, making them accessible to all.

On September 7, a family festival will take place, featuring games, crafts, and surprises for the whole family. This promises to be a fun-filled day for all ages.

The theatre's reopening marks the start of ticket sales for all performances up to and including October. The Card House will be open from Mondays to Fridays, 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturdays, 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM. On-site staff will be available to provide advice and assistance.

The first premiere in the Small House is "Gloria", a world premiere, on Saturday, September 20. The production of "Gloria" is by City Theatre Intendant Simone Sterr. The first premiere in the Great House is "Prince Friedrich of Homburg", on Saturday, September 13, in a production by Anaïs Durand-Mauptit.

The 2025/2026 season theme is 'tracks'. The new season is rich in diverse theatre forms, promising a journey of discovery for theatre-goers.

The 1st Symphony Concert, featuring works by Jean-Baptiste Lully, Richard Strauss, and Amy Beach, will take place on an unspecified date. The musical direction for this concert is by General Music Director Andreas Schüller.

City Theatre Intendant Simone Sterr welcomes employees for the 2025/2026 season. The Intendant of the Stadttheater Minden is Andrea Krauledat, and the premiere of the world premiere "Shakespeare am Kiosk" is scheduled for September 13, 2025.
