City theater resumes operations following summer hiatus

The City Theatre is gearing up for an exciting new season, themed 'Tracks', with a variety of theatre forms on offer. The season officially begins with a preview concert on Wednesday, September 3, followed by the grand opening event, 'New Tracks 25/26: The Season Show', on Sunday, September 7.

The 1st Symphony Concert, following the preview, promises an enchanting evening of music. Under the musical direction of Andreas Schüller, the concert features works by Jean-Baptiste Lully, Richard Strauss, and Amy Beach.

On the same day, the children's festival takes place, offering a fun-filled event with games, crafting, and surprises for the whole family. The Summer Stage, meanwhile, will be hosting special outdoor theatre experiences under the open sky from September 5. The events are free and include tea, Bulgarian songs, an opera choir, Open Mic, and the children's festival.

The first premiere in the Great Hall is on Saturday, September 13, in a production by Anaïs Durand-Mauptit, a French-German director and performer known for her productions influenced by music and multilingualism. The second premiere of the new season is on Saturday, September 20, in the Small Hall. Notably, this second premiere is a world premiere in a production by City Theatre Director Simone Sterr.

The Card House, the City Theatre's box office, has reopened for business. It is open from Mondays through Fridays, 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM, and on Saturdays, 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM.
