City Network Company TNG Stadtnetz GmbH and City of Gießen partner for fiber optic development collaboration
In a significant move towards modernizing Giessen's infrastructure, TNG Stadtnetz GmbH and the City of Giessen have joined forces to accelerate and streamline the expansion of a fiber optic network in the city.
This joint declaration of intent marks a crucial step towards Giessen's digital future, as expanding the modern infrastructure is set to provide numerous benefits for the city's citizens and local economy. TNG, a private company expanding a fiber optic network in Giessen, aims to build a future-proof network that will enable digital participation for all and increase the city's attractiveness as a place to live and do business.
The cooperation between TNG and the City of Giessen is designed to expedite the fiber optic expansion in Giessen. The network has already been implemented in Pohlheim and Fernwald, and construction work is planned in several districts, including Lützellinden, Allendorf, Kleinlinden, Wieseck, Rödgen, and Petersweiher, in the near future.
The expansion in Rödgen has already begun, with construction measures soon to follow in Kleinlinden. The goal is to connect around 14,000 households to TNG's high-performance fiber optic network. To facilitate this, house connections on private property will be established throughout the expansion area.
Giessen's Mayor, Frank-Tilo Becher, expressed his enthusiasm for this collaboration, stating that the expansion of the modern infrastructure is a significant step towards the digital future of the city. TNG's Sales Manager, Kilian Ortwein, also expressed his excitement for the cooperation with the City of Giessen.
