City marks 75 years of DARC with a grand celebration, hosting a large anniversary party in the city center on Saturday.
The city's downtown will transform next Saturday as it dedicates a day to amateur radio and celebrates the 75th anniversary of the German Amateur Radio Club e.V. (DARC). This event, a symbol of innovation, education, and community, is being organised by the Amateur Radio Club e.V., the largest non-profit organisation for amateur radio enthusiasts in Germany, based right here in our city.
Mayor Henry Richter has praised the significance of DARC, stating that it embodies the spirit of innovation, education, and community. The city hall will serve as the hub for tech enthusiasts from 10 am to 5 pm, where an extensive lecture program, exhibitions, and informational booths will provide insights into the world of amateur radio.
Children are not left out of the fun, as they can participate in hands-on tech experiences at the amateur radio and tech market on the market square. An exhibition in cooperation with the city's fire department and the city's crisis communication department will demonstrate the importance of amateur radio in emergency situations.
