City Library Announces Exciting Events for Children

The City Library in Kiel has an exciting lineup of events for children in the coming week. Here's a rundown of the activities on offer.

Toddlers Explore the Library with Book Tots

On Wednesday, September 18th, from 9:30 to 11 AM, the Book Tots program will take place at the City Library. This event is designed for toddlers and their accompanying adults, providing a unique opportunity for young children to discover books and exchange ideas with other families.

The Book Tots program continues on Thursday, September 19th, from 3 to 4:30 PM, but this session is not open to toddlers. Instead, it's part of the Reading Corner, a cosy atmosphere where stories are read aloud and books are explored together.

Creative Activities for Older Children

For children aged 8 to 11, the City Library has organised a special event on Wednesday, September 18th, from 4 to 5 PM. The theme is "Making Paper Kites," and the event includes storytelling and creating a small paper kite.

The Children's Afternoon event is not part of the Children's Reading Club or the Youth Reading Club, as it occurs on a different day. However, the Children's Reading Club and the Youth Reading Club will meet on Thursdays, September 11th and 25th, from 5 to 6 PM.

Events for the Whole Family

The City Library offers various formats for family activities, including shared reading, creative crafting, and events specifically designed for the youngest. The closest event for families is the "Kamishibai: Der Dachs hat heute schlechte Laune," a children's event taking place at the Zentralbücherei im Neuen Rathaus, Andreas-Gayk-Straße 31, on Friday, September 19th, at 3:30 PM.

Registration and More Information

All events are open to the public and require registration through the City Library's Media Portal for participation. The Media Portal also provides detailed information about the events and their registration requirements.
