Choir in Tölz breaks ties with Julian Wachner

The Tolzer Knabenchor, a renowned German boys' choir, has announced a significant change in leadership and its relationship with conductor Julian Wachner. In October 2025, Michael Hofstetter, a former artistic director and long-standing guest conductor, will take over the choir's upcoming recordings.

This decision comes following allegations against Wachner of possessing child pornography. The choir has immediately ceased all contact with him and advises families to discontinue any private contacts, including social media, with Wachner.
