Chinese Investors Launch Window Profile Factory in Russia's Far East

A new factory producing window profiles has opened in Russia's Habarovsk Advanced Development Territory (ADT). Chinese entrepreneurs Liu Mengmeng and his wife, now residents of the region, launched the facility after investing 230 million rubles. The project marks a shift from importing window profiles from China to manufacturing them locally.

The factory currently produces 50,000 square metres of finished window profiles. Components are sourced from other Russian regions and countries considered friendly to Russia. As residents of the ADT, the investors benefit from government incentives, helping the business expand.

With residential construction growing in Habarovsk, demand for locally made window profiles is expected to rise. The entrepreneurs are also preparing to build workshops for tempered glass production, with construction set to begin as early as next year. Their focus remains on increasing local production, particularly for specialised glass. No further window profile factories are planned by these investors in the region at this time.

The new facility replaces imports with local production, meeting demand from Habarovsk's construction sector. By expanding into tempered glass, the investors aim to further localise their supply chain. The project stands as one of the region's key industrial developments under the ADT programme.
