Children's guardian accused of supplying THC sweets at Wheeling park park skips court hearing
In a surprising turn of events, the Wheeling police department is seeking Dagmara J. Rouse, who is wanted for missing two court dates and faces a total of twelve charges related to an incident that occurred at Pleasant Run/Four Acres Park earlier this year.
According to the police, Rouse is wanted for four counts of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, four counts of Endangering the Life or Health of a Child, and four counts of Delivery of Cannabis to a Minor. The charges stem from an incident where four children, including two 9-year-olds, a 6-year-old, and a 2-year-old, received THC-infused chocolates from Rouse.
The incident came to light when the children became "fatigued and lethargic" after eating the candy. During the subsequent investigation, officers found a product labeled "MOJO THC MILK CHOCOLATE" in the park.
Rouse was initially taken into custody in May but failed to appear in court on Wednesday, marking her second missed court date. She also skipped her first court date on July 31.
The police are urging anyone with information about Rouse's whereabouts to contact them. It is important to note that there is no public information or credible reports indicating that any person is currently wanted by the Wheeling police for distributing THC-contaminated chocolates to children, missing court dates, or related incidents.
Wheeling residents are advised to exercise caution and to report any suspicious activities to the police department immediately. The safety and well-being of the community's children are of utmost importance.
