In the early hours of today, several incidents have been reported across the towns of Bad Düben and Kesselsdorf.

In Bad Düben, a traffic accident occurred on Bitterfelder Street that has left a 12-year-old boy severely injured. According to initial reports, the boy ran onto the road, causing a collision with a Mercedes Sprinter driven by a 62-year-old man. The emergency services swiftly attended the scene, taking the boy to a hospital where he is currently being treated as an inpatient.

The extent of the boy's injuries is currently not publicly known, but it is understood that they are serious. The traffic accident service has recorded the incident, and further details are expected to be released as the investigation continues.

Meanwhile, in Kesselsdorf, there have been reports of a possible accident involving a truck that ended up in oncoming traffic. The exact nature of the incident is not yet clear, but it is said that at least one injury has been reported (if confirmed).

Elsewhere, the town of Bad Düben is gearing up for the "Day of Saxony", expected to attract around 250,000 guests. However, the Taxpayers' Association has raised concerns about Saxony's financial situation, urging caution in the planning and execution of such events.
