FanDuel and Flutter Show Support for Los Angeles Wildfire Relief Efforts

In a show of solidarity with the Los Angeles community, FanDuel, a leading betting and gaming company, along with its parent company, Flutter Entertainment, and subsidiary Flutter International, have announced a donation of $250,000 to aid wildfire relief efforts.

The companies, who have been members of the Los Angeles business community for over two decades, have close to 400 employees from the Los Angeles area. FanDuel's headquarters for online betting, iGaming, and daily fantasy sports are located in Culver City, where Flutter's FanDuel TV, formerly known as TVG, is also based.

The wildfires that have ravaged the city have resulted in the loss of at least two dozen lives and have destroyed thousands of homes and vehicles. The Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles was significantly affected by the wildfires, with many residents left devastated by the loss.

Amy Howe, CEO of FanDuel, expressed heartbreak over the devastating loss caused by the wildfires, as the community is one they call home. The company strengthened its government relations team early last month by confirming the appointments of Louis Trombetta and James Hartmann, who will undoubtedly play a crucial role in their efforts to support the city during this difficult time.

The donation will be split between Americares and the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, with the aim of providing immediate relief to those affected and supporting the ongoing efforts to rebuild and recover.

The wildfires initially started to spread from various areas, but heavy winds exacerbated the issue, making it difficult for firefighters to contain the blazes. The situation serves as a stark reminder of the importance of community support and solidarity during times of crisis.

In the beginning of the year 20XX, the Ford Foundation also donated $250,000 to the Los Angeles Fire Department and the organization Americares for wildfire relief in the Los Angeles region. The companies' donation is a testament to their commitment to the city and their desire to help in any way they can during these challenging times.
