Chaotic Wedding Scene: Vehicle Accidentally Infiltrates Crowd; Police Investigating Possible Intentional Act
In a tragic incident that occurred on Thursday at 1:10 PM, a car accident took place in Berlin-Wedding, specifically at the intersection of Seestraße and Dohnagestell. The accident involved a group of children and their supervisor, resulting in three injuries among the children.
According to reports from @polizeiberlin, the driver of the car, a 20-year-old man, was driving a blue BMW. The driver is said to have disregarded a red light, leading to the accident. Preliminary investigations suggest that the accident may have occurred under the influence of intoxicating substances.
The driver was arrested at the scene and taken to a hospital for immediate medical attention. He was later transferred to a detention center for further investigation.
Thorsten Schleheider, chairman of the police union, expressed his sympathies, wishing the victims a speedy recovery. He also commended the deployed police officers and firefighters for their professional response at the scene.
One woman at the scene reportedly required treatment from paramedics due to shock. Chaplains are providing care and support to the injured children and their parents at a nearby park.
Out of the 15 children involved, three were taken to the nearby Virchow Clinic for treatment. The caretaker among the injured suffered severe injuries. A blood sample was taken from the driver for analysis.
