New Appointment at High-Tech Gründerfonds: Sebastian Borek Takes the Helm

In a significant move for the European tech scene, High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) has appointed Sebastian Borek as its new Managing Director. Borek, who brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role, will be tasked with helping to shape tomorrow's European tech champions.

Before joining HTGF, Borek was an angel investor, advisory board member, family entrepreneur, and managing director of Peruya Asset Management. He also co-founded the Founders Foundation in Bielefeld and previously founded and led the high-tech startup PressMatrix, holding several patents in SaaS computing.

Borek's extensive background in the tech industry gives him a deep understanding of the opportunities and challenges that digital technologies and business models present. This understanding, combined with his excellent national and international network, makes him an ideal candidate to lead HTGF.

HTGF, with a fund volume of over two billion euros, is one of Europe's most active Seed investors. The organisation has been investing in startups since 2005, and has financed over 780 companies in areas such as deeptech, climatetech, digitaltech, industrialtech, life sciences, and chemistry.

Armgard Wippler, the Chair of the HTGF Investor Advisory Board and Ministerial Director in the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, expressed her confidence in Borek's ability to lead the organisation.
